Behringer GMX212 Stereo Guitar Amplifier
Stereo rules, no doubt about it. Stand in front of a standard guitar amp with chorus on and then in front of a stereo amp... it's just like floating on Cool Whip. The Behringer folks provided a huge amount of patching options on the back of the unit, so it gets to be used in a lot of strange ways. Best part about it is its response at any volume. The clean settings can get you some sweet stuff, bluesy tones and it's responsive to the volume on your ax. I can't say a lot about the distortion in the amp, although it's modeled on some kind of tube it just isn't quite right. So I'm using a Roland Micro Cube as a preamp. But the chorus, flange, phase shifter and reverbs are very good. On stage it is only turned up loud enough for personal monitoring... a feed is sent to the PA and then properly mixed for the venue. |
